Where Your Money Goes
Education
For $1 per week ($52 per year)
For the cost of a 20 oz. soda, you could provide two girls whose family cannot afford it with the opportunity to participate in activities that will teach them to be more confident and self sufficient.
For $13.50 per week ($702 per year)
For the price of 2 fast food lunches, you could help supplement the cost of child care for an individual or family who is unable to afford safe, daily care of their child. This cost includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, and diapers/wipes as needed.
Health
For $20 per week ($1040 per year)
For the price of a monthly gym membership, you could help 6 uninsured individuals in Knoxville/Knox County move toward greater self-sufficiency by broadening access to basic health services and health support systems.
For $20 per week ($1040 per year)
For the price of a DVD, you could provide transportation and day resources to persons with physical disabilities to promote their self esteem, independence and quality of daily living.
Income
For $30 per week ($1,300 per year)
For the price of dinner for two, you could provide an individual with hands-on job skills training that will help them successfully bridge the gap between unemployment and competitive employment.
For $35 per week ($1,700 per year)
For the price of a 2 large pizzas delivered, you could provide an individual with job pre-placement and retention services that enable the person to obtain gainful means of employment and ultimately economic self sufficiency.
For $35 per week ($1,700 per year)
For the price of a 2 person dinner at a restaurant, you could provide 2 individuals with self paced computer programming that enables the individual to obtain employment and ultimately economic self sufficiency.
Basic Needs
For $3 per week ($156 per year)
For less than the price of a espresso, you could provide a child in need with trips to a clothing closet where they will receive used as well as new clothes each semester. This impacts the child’s self esteem which can in turn improve the child’s academic performance.
For $5 per week ($260 per year)
For the price of a weekly movie rental, you could provide a month of safe and supervised day activities for an elderly individual who is unable to stay home alone.
For $5 per week ($260 per year)
For the cost of lunch at a restaurant, you could provide 10 bags of food that will feed 4 individuals for 3 days to families in need.
For $25 per week ($1300 per year)
For the cost of dinner at a nice restaurant, you could provide 4 homebound senior citizens quality nutritious meals delivered to their home.
For $50 per week ($2,600 per year) The Chilhowee Circle
For the price of a nice dinner out for 2 people, you could provide children who come from low income households with a backpack full of food each week to ensure that they receive the needed nutrition to stay on target developmentally.
