The IRS requires that gifts made through payroll deduction be documented through earnings statement(s) provided by your employer along with a copy of your pledge card that contains wording that “No goods or services were received in return for the gift.”

Credit card donations may be made via our online option: until Midnight, December 31st for deductibility in 2011.

Credit card donations arriving at our office must be received by 10 a.m. on Friday, December 29 for the purposes of 2011 tax credit. No credit card payments will be processed after noon on Thursday, December 29. Donations made by check and submitted by U.S. mail must be postmarked by

December 31, 2011. Due to frequent postal delays experienced during the busy holiday season, we encourage you to mail your gifts several days in advance. Stock gifts must be transferred by Friday, December 29th.

UWGK routinely provides documentation for tax purposes to all donors who contribute at least $250 via a single payment of: cash, check, credit card, or stock gifts.

For such contributions under $250, you may request a tax receipt by sending an email to TaxReceipts@unitedwayknox.org. Please call (865) 523-9131 if you have questions. Reduce your stress level this holiday season and make your charitable gift early!
