Nonprofit Management Center
United Way volunteers recognize that financial means are not the only approach to improving our community’s well-being. By employing a variety of strategies, the Nonprofit Management Center (NMC) serves as a resource to nonprofit organizations in East Tennessee that have a desire to strengthen their skills, their organizations, and ultimately their delivery of client services.
United Way has often served as a training site, hosting and co-hosting seminars and workshops for nonprofit professional development. For example, each fall NMC partners with the Knoxville News Sentinel to offer a course in Media Relations through which hundreds of nonprofits have connected and learned about working with television, radio and print media.
In addition to offering workshops for community agencies, United Way’s NMC continues to support nonprofit organizations through technical assistance and the nonprofit resource center which is open 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. weekdays. Call Donna Deichert at 523-9131 for more information.
