United Way's Nonprofit Management Center offers grant writing course to area nonprofits.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (July 13) - United Way's Nonprofit Management Center of East Tennessee (NMC) will host a course for nonprofit staff and volunteers on Writing Grants and Making the Case on Wednesday, July 20 from 6-8 p.m. at United Way of Greater Knoxville, 1301 Hannah Avenue.

Presented by Carolyn Berryhill and Jeff Elliott, the course will present practical ideas and tools to prepare funding priorities and develop a case statement for their organization. Participants are asked to bring examples of case statements from their organization to share with other attendees.
Berryhill is an independent consultant with over 20 years' experience in fundraising and grant writing. She has garnered millions of dollars for a variety of organizations. Elliott is with Covenant Health Office of Philanthropy and has over 20 years experience in organizing special events, annual giving campaigns and capital campaigns.

The course will cost $30 for each individual and $20 for each additional participant from the same organization. Interested parties can pre-register by calling United Way at 523-9131.
