UNITED WAY OF GREATER KNOXVILLE TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FOR
COMMUNITY IMPACT VENTURE GRANTS

United Way of Greater Knoxville is requesting proposals for Community Impact Venture Grants. Interested community programs or projects must address one or more of United Way's three primary focus areas: 1) health, 2) building independence through education for life and job skills, and 3) service delivery to people living on the edge of poverty in Knox County. The review committee is seeking applications for projects that are clearly defined, measurable, and which will achieve critical outcomes efficiently and effectively.

Local agencies chosen to receive funds must be 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies, or institutions that provide programming in health and human services in Knox County. Project awards for these one-time funds will not exceed $50,000 and the review committee reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.

Ten copies of the grant application must be received by United Way of Greater Knoxville, 1301 Hannah Avenue by 5 p.m. on or before March 1. Grant funds will be awarded by early summer 2006, and must be used by July 1, 2007, with a complete report of the project and its challenges and achievements.

United Way will offer two workshops to answer questions about the grant process in February. Organizations interested in submitting a proposal are invited to attend either date. The workshops are scheduled for February 6 at 10 a.m. or February 6 at 3 p.m. both at United Way, 1301 Hannah Avenue. Please call Nancy Lofaro at 521-5571 for more information.
