UNITED WAY OF GREATER KNOXVILLE OFFERING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR NON-PROFIT MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION
United Way works to improve the lives of people in our community by helping them achieve their potential for self-sufficiency. Helping nonprofit organizations become more effective at serving their clients and more efficient at using their resources is very important to United Way.
It is for this reason that the United Way Nonprofit Management Center is partnering with the University of Tennessee Personal and Professional Development program to offer a limited number of scholarships for individuals interested in obtaining a Non-Profit Management Certificate through the UT program.

UNITED WAY OF GREATER KNOXVILLE LAUNCHES EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT CAMPAIGN
Rapid refund and quick cash loan offers seem to pop up all over town during tax season. These offers are really just refund anticipation loans (RALs), which are short-term, high-interest loans that taxpayers take out based on their expected returns in order to get their money sooner.
With a focus on financial stability, United Way of Greater Knoxville is working to educate the community on RALs and available free tax preparation sites.

United Way announced today the allocations, or fund distribution process, has officially begun.
Throughout the year, nearly 200 volunteers work diligently to visit over 145 health and human service programs funded by United Way. Beginning in late January and continuing throughout February, those same volunteers review funding requests and distribute the money raised during the fall United Way campaign.
