Often, individuals have supported United Way through their active years in the workforce. Upon retirement they continue to support United Way through a direct gift to the organization.

Other individuals participate through the retiree organization with a former employee.
Often professionals and independent business men and women choose to support United Way through a direct gift. These gifts combine to represent 8.4 percent of the annual campaign based on 2004 giving representing almost $1 million in giving.

As you can see from the breakdown of the annual giving stream, all gifts are important. As each community-minded member of our society steps up and participates at the level they feel comfortable, we collectively make a difference in our community's health and quality of life. And, at the end of the day, that's what matters.
