United Way of Greater Knoxville accepts gifts throughout the year from donors who wish to honor or memorialize a loved one.

These gifts are transferred to the United Way of Greater Knoxville Endowment Fund at East Tennessee Foundation unless otherwise specified by the donor. The donor as well as the person or family being honored or memorialized receives a thank-you note, although the gift amounts and donors' names are not made public.

These gifts are not included or counted in campaign dollars, but do make a difference in the lives of people in East Tennessee. Names of those honored or memorialized are listed in the annual report as well as in the annual leaders register, making people aware of ways to contribute to United Way outside of the traditional fall campaign.
