2007 Campaign Update

United Way of Greater Knoxville celebrated a victory for the community on December 14 at noon at the Knoxville Convention Center as the organization wrapped up the 2007 fall campaign. Thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteers, United Way announced it had raised $12,801,987-exceeding the $12.8 million goal.

"We felt good that the support was out there when we extended the campaign in November," Bob Talbott, 2007 campaign chairman said. "But, even four weeks ago, we were $1.5 million short and leaving that much money on the table was not an option."

"As the chairman of this year's campaign, I have been impressed with the number of people who care about this community and volunteer their time or make a donation to help others less fortunate. When all of those gifts are combined, it's amazing what we can do in Knoxville."
